Frequently Asked Questions
REECOV Q&A
What is REECOV designed for?
REECOV Hikers Leg Compression Sleeves provide a close, supportive feeling across the thigh, knee, and calf during hiking, walking, long days on your feet, and post-activity recovery.
They are designed to give your legs more complete coverage than a short knee sleeve while still allowing natural movement.
What is included with my order?
Each pair includes two REECOV Hikers Leg Compression Sleeves — one for each leg.
The exact number of pairs you receive depends on the bundle selected when placing your order.
How is REECOV different from a regular knee sleeve?
Most knee sleeves only cover the area immediately around the knee.
REECOV extends from the upper thigh to above the ankle, providing continuous compression support across the thigh, knee, and calf.
This full-leg design also avoids the need to combine separate thigh, knee, and calf sleeves.
What materials are the sleeves made from?
REECOV sleeves use a flexible compression knit made from approximately:
-
70–85% copper-infused nylon
-
15–30% spandex
-
A built-in silicone grip around the upper-thigh band
The material is designed to feel lightweight, breathable, flexible, and supportive during movement.
Is REECOV a medical device?
No.
REECOV is a general wellness and support product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition and should not replace advice or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.
Can REECOV cure knee pain or an injury?
No product can guarantee that result.
REECOV is designed to provide a supportive compression feeling during movement. Individual experiences vary depending on fit, activity, body type, and personal health circumstances.
If you have persistent pain, a recent injury, or a diagnosed medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
How do I choose my size?
Measure around your thigh approximately 4 inches above your kneecap, then compare your measurement with the REECOV Size Guide.
Do not select your size based only on your usual clothing size. Compression sizing depends on your actual leg measurement.
What if I am between two sizes?
If your measurement falls between two sizes, contact us at help@reecov.com before ordering.
Our support team will help you choose the most appropriate fit based on your measurement and preferred level of compression.
Can I order a different size for each leg?
If your legs require different sizes, contact us before placing your order.
We will check the available bundle options and help you find the most suitable solution.
How tight should the sleeves feel?
The sleeves should feel snug and evenly supportive, but never painfully tight.
You should still be able to move your knee naturally without sharp pressure, pinching, numbness, or loss of sensation.
Remove the sleeves immediately if you experience unusual pain, numbness, tingling, excessive pressure, swelling, skin discoloration, or loss of sensation.
How do I put the sleeves on?
-
Roll the sleeve down before putting it on.
-
Place your foot through the bottom opening.
-
Gradually unroll the material upward over your calf and knee.
-
Center the knee zone over your kneecap.
-
Position the silicone band comfortably around your thigh.
-
Smooth out any folds or wrinkles so the compression feels even.
Avoid pulling the entire sleeve upward using only the upper cuff, as this can stretch the fabric unevenly.
How should the knee section be positioned?
The shaped knee zone should sit directly over your kneecap.
Before walking, bend and straighten your leg a few times to confirm that the sleeve moves comfortably and that the fabric is distributed evenly.
Will the sleeves slide down?
REECOV sleeves include a built-in silicone grip around the upper-thigh band to help keep them in place during movement.
Correct sizing and placement are still essential. A sleeve that is too large may slide, while one that is too small may feel uncomfortable or roll.
For the best fit, center the knee zone and smooth the fabric evenly before beginning your activity.
What if the sleeves roll or bunch?
Remove the sleeve and put it on again, making sure the fabric is distributed evenly from the calf to the thigh.
Do not simply pull harder on the upper cuff. Check that the knee zone is centered and that no section of the sleeve is folded over itself.
Persistent rolling or bunching may indicate that the size is incorrect.
Can I wear REECOV under hiking pants or jeans?
Yes.
The close-fitting design can be worn under hiking pants, joggers, and loose-fitting jeans, provided the combination remains comfortable.
Your clothing should not create excessive pressure over the sleeves or restrict your movement.
Can I wear them on long hikes?
REECOV sleeves are designed for walking, hiking, mountain trails, steep climbs, descents, and longer days on your feet.
Before wearing them on a full-day hike, test them during a shorter walk to confirm that the size, compression, and positioning feel comfortable.
How long can I wear the sleeves?
A practical starting point is approximately 2 to 6 hours during activity or recovery.
Start with a shorter period, especially during your first use. Take breaks, check your comfort, and remove the sleeves if they begin to feel excessively tight or uncomfortable.
Everyone responds differently to compression, so listen to your body rather than forcing yourself to wear them for a fixed amount of time.
Can I wear REECOV all day?
The sleeves may be worn during longer daytime activities if they remain comfortable.
However, we recommend starting with shorter periods and removing them periodically to check your skin and comfort.
Do not continue wearing them if you experience pain, numbness, tingling, unusual swelling, skin discoloration, or excessive pressure.
Can I sleep in the sleeves?
We recommend using REECOV during daytime activities and recovery.
Do not sleep in compression sleeves unless a qualified healthcare professional has specifically advised you to do so.
Can I wear them in warm weather?
The sleeves use a lightweight, breathable knit designed for outdoor activity.
However, compression clothing will naturally feel warmer than uncovered skin. Comfort can vary depending on the temperature, humidity, activity level, and clothing worn over the sleeves.
Take breaks and remove them if you become uncomfortable.
Can I use them after a hike?
Yes.
REECOV can be worn as part of your post-hike recovery routine if the sleeves remain comfortable.
They provide a close compression feeling across the thigh, knee, and calf after long walks or extended periods on your feet.
REECOV is not a substitute for medical care, rest, hydration, or professional advice.
Do I have to wear both sleeves?
Your order includes a pair, but you may choose to wear one or both sleeves depending on your activity and comfort.
If you are using compression because of an injury, circulation concern, or medical condition, ask a healthcare professional what is appropriate for you.
Who should speak to a healthcare professional before using REECOV?
Speak to a qualified healthcare professional before using compression sleeves if you:
-
Have a circulation or vascular condition
-
Have diabetes with reduced sensation
-
Have unexplained swelling
-
Have a recent injury or surgery
-
Have a history of blood clots
-
Have a skin condition affecting your legs
-
Are pregnant and have circulation concerns
-
Have been advised to avoid compression garments
This list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure, seek professional advice before use.
When should I stop wearing the sleeves?
Remove the sleeves immediately if you experience:
-
Pain or excessive pressure
-
Numbness or tingling
-
Loss of sensation
-
Unusual swelling
-
Skin discoloration
-
Coldness in the foot or lower leg
-
Persistent itching or irritation
-
Difficulty moving comfortably
Do not wear the sleeves over open wounds, infected skin, or significant skin irritation.
What if the silicone band irritates my skin?
Make sure the band is sitting flat against clean, dry skin and is not folded or positioned over irritated skin.
Remove the sleeves if irritation develops. Do not continue wearing them until the skin has recovered.
If irritation persists, discontinue use and seek appropriate professional advice.
How do I wash my REECOV sleeves?
To protect the compression fabric and silicone grip:
-
Hand wash in cold water
-
Use a gentle detergent
-
Do not bleach
-
Do not wring or twist
-
Air dry only
-
Do not tumble dry
-
Do not iron
-
Store flat or gently rolled
High temperatures and aggressive washing can damage the stretch fibers and reduce the effectiveness of the silicone grip.
How often should I wash them?
Wash the sleeves regularly based on how often you wear them and how much you perspire.
Allow them to dry completely before wearing them again. Avoid repeated high-temperature washing or machine drying, as this may damage the compression fabric.
